# Pricing

Free to start; Pro adds volume and extras; self-hosting is free with a yearly licence for the Pro items. API and embedding are included in every plan. Payments in a document: 2% on Free, 0% on Pro, on top of Stripe's fees.

## What each plan is for

Free is for trying it properly and for low volume: fifteen documents a month, all the signing features, templates and your own email domain. Pro is for teams that send regularly and want more headroom, no Docustay line on signed copies, and no platform fee on payments. Self-hosted is for people who want everything on their own server.

No plan switches signing off. If you reach your monthly allowance on Free, you can still sign documents already sent; you cannot send new ones until the next month or until you upgrade.

## How payments are charged

A payment field collects money through Stripe, into the Stripe account you connect. Stripe's own fees are Stripe's. Docustay adds two percent on Free and nothing on Pro. Docustay does not hold the money; it goes from the payer to your Stripe account.

## Paying and cancelling

Pro is $39 a month for the whole workspace, billed monthly through Stripe, and it is not charged per user. Founders who subscribe by the cut-off date shown on the Pricing page (end of that day, Pacific time) pay $25 a month for as long as the subscription stays active; if a subscription ends and you subscribe again, the price then in force applies. You can cancel from the billing screen in the app and keep Pro until the end of what you paid for. Self-hosting is free; the yearly licence only unlocks the Pro items on your own server.
